About Ricky Ghataura
Dr Ricky Ghataura is a General Dentist with a special interest in Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dentistry. She qualified from Guy’s Hospital in 2001 and continued her education through many courses and a Masters in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry from University of Manchester with a Distinction in 2017.
She is passionate about minimally invasive dentistry, smile makeovers and wanting to achieve a relaxed and caring environment for patients. Dentistry has progressed drastically and Dr Ghataura wants to demystify the stigma associated with attending the dentist.
She has worked in a variety of practices and is looking forward to helping you achieve the best smile!

Assessment
This is an important part of the dental journey. It involves a thorough history prior to a full clinical examination and photography for the assessment of the teeth, gums, jaw, jaw movements and smile analysis. This allows the formulation of a full treatment plan for you to allow completion of your dream smile.
Preventative
The full assessment allows us to give thorough oral hygiene advice, regime, aids and recommendations to optimise your oral health. This involves daily habits and other treatments that can be done in the surgery to protect those teeth that may be showing early signs of oral disease.
Invisalign
These are the most widely known clear aligner system which helps to straighten teeth comfortably and predictably. They are custom made and use SMARTforce technology to aid movement of the teeth whilst being discrete. A full assessment prior enables us to know if this is suitable for your needs and if the desired effect can be achieved.
Veneers
These are thin, tooth coloured shells that are attached to the front surface of a tooth that helps to improve the appearance. They can be made of porcelain or composite and are bonded to the tooth.
Crowns & Onlays
These restorations are used to fix a tooth that has been damaged by decay or injury. They can be made of porcelain, composite, resin or gold. They fit over the tooth’s biting surface. A crown covers the full tooth surface whereas an onlay is usually partial coverage.

Whitening
Whitening your teeth can be used to brighten your smile and make you feel refreshed and enhance your smile. There are a range of whitening agents that can be used. Enlighten is one of the brands that can be used and prescribed to enhance your teeth in a safe manner.

Treatment is always carried out in a caring and gentle manner to try and reduce and fears and anxieties, so the visit to the dentist is a wonderful experience.
